No place is safe for Gazans - 15 Dec 09

Mosques, hospitals, schools and homes have been hit as the Israeli air raids in Gaza City become more intense.

Al Jazeera's Sherine Tadros, reporting from Gaza on the 20th day of the war, says there is no place of refuge left for Gazans in the densely populated territory.

Mullen warns of tough Afghan fight - 15 Dec 09

The chairman of the US joint chiefs of staff has said that Taliban and al-Qaeda fighters are becoming "more sophisticated, more effective, and more dominant".

Speaking on a visit to Kabul, Admiral Mike Mullen said he was increasingly concerned about threats from fighters based across the border in Pakistan.

Meanwhile, America's second highest ranking general in Afghanistan has said the planned deployment of 30,000 more US troops will take longer than expected.

Confusion over Livni warrant - 15 Dec 09

A court in the UK has issued - and then cancelled - an arrest warrant against Israeli opposition leader Tzipi Livni.

According to the Guardian newspaper, the warrant was issued at the request of lawyers representing pro-Palestinian activists and sought Livni's arrest on suspicion of war crimes related to last year's War on Gaza.

Pakistani intelligence agency 'targeted by Taliban'

Admiral Mike Mullen, the chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, has said that extremist groups that have launched attacks against US and Nato forces in Afghanistan "have been taking refuge across the border in Pakistan".

To fight that, Washington has been cultivating a relationship with the Inter-Sevices Intelligence (ISI), Pakistan's intelligence agency.

But as Imran Khan reports, the ISI are now facing their own struggle, as the Taliban turn on them.
